How to wear contact lenses, contact lenses glasses, ontact lens solution

Removing a Soft Lens

• While applying and removing your contact lens, the first and foremost thing you need to do is to wash your hands properly. Make sure that you are not using an oily or scented or soap that contains lanolin. You might end up having an eye infection if this is not taken care of.
• Cover the drain of the sink if you will remove the lens while standing before it. It is better to be at a safer side.
• In order to remove the soft contact lens, look sideways or upward and along with that pull down your lower lid. With your finger tip, gently place the contact lens on the white area of your eye. It is here that you gently pinch the contacts together with your thumb and the index finger and pick it out of your eye. Until you are a master in the removal process, cut the fingernails. Fingernails can cause damage to the lens by scratching or tearing it or even damaging your eye.

Removing a Rigid Lens

Hold out the palm of your one hand, bend over it and open your eyes wide. With the help of a finger of the other hand pull the skin of the outside corner of the eye toward your ear. Just blink after this and the contact lens will pop out into your open hand.

You can even take the help of a plunger – device to remove contact lenses. These are available with the eye care practitioner. But you need to make sure that you touch only the contact lens and not the surface of your eye with the device.

Tips to Protect Your Contact Lenses While Applying Make Up

Eye make up is very common with women these days. But it is a risky process with a contact lens. The make up can stick to your lens instead of coming out.

• Before applying eye make up wear your contact lens. Make sure that your hands are not oily or have any creams applied to it. Therefore before wearing your lenses wash your hands.
• Apply non-allergenic make up only. There are many brands available in the market to choose from.
• Apply cream eye shadow instead of the powder ones. There is a high chance of powder entering your eye. It’s better to choose a water based instead of oil based creams.
• But if you apply the powder shut your eyes during application. Brush off the excess one..
