In order to wear contact lens you require knowing some basic tips that
will ensure proper fit. The new users as well as the experienced users
of contact lenses face difficulties in wearing them. Therefore the following
tips will help you to deal with the regular problems of contact lenses.
How to know the inside out side of the Contact Lens?
The easiest way to know the answer is to place your lens on the finger
and make sure that it looks like a cup. Once the shape is ensured, hold
the lens exactly in front of the eye in a way that you can see the side
area of the lens.
You will know that the contacts are inside out when it forms a “U” and
its top edge shines. But if it only forms a “U”, the lens is in the right
position.
Another way to recognize whether the contact is inside out is to hold
the lens on tip of your finger in a tilted position. The tint at the edge
of the lens will either look blue or green according to the tint. This
is the correct position of the lens. The edge of an inverted lens will
not show you the colored tint.
Few contact lenses even have the laser marking, for example the name
of the brand. It will be marked at the edge of the lens to help you know
the correct position of the lens. If you cannot read the name properly
then the contacts is inside out.
If by mistake you position the contact lens on the eye in the inside
out position, there is no problem. You will just have an uncomfortable
feeling after wearing it.
